Collaborative Achievement Awards

Institute Honors for Collaborative Achievement are given by the American Institute of Architects to recognize and encourage distinguished achievements of allied professionals, clients, organizations, architect teams, knowledge communities, and others who have had a beneficial influence on or advanced the architectural profession.

Thomas Jefferson Award
The American Institute of Architects established the Thomas Jefferson Awards for Public Architecture to recognize achievements in the following three categories:
Private-sector architects who have established a portfolio of accomplishment in the design of architecturally distinguished public facilities

Public-sector architects who manage or produce quality design within their agencies

Public officials or other individuals who by their role of advocacy have furthered the public's awareness and/or appreciation of design excellence.

For a listing of all Institute Awards visit the AIA Awards web page.

The Roadmap to Sustainable Government Buildings
The Roadmap to Sustainable Government Buildings was created through the joint efforts of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the National Association of State Facilities Administrators (NASFA). It is a collection of information created by experts from various states across the country that are currently implementing green building programs based on LEED. Ohio Qualified Based Selection Manual
A guide to selecting the highest qualified architecture/engineering firm. The most important element of any construction project is its design. The quality of design is the single most important factor in determining a project’s “life-cycle cost” — the initial cost of construction plus the long-term cost for operation and maintenance. Download Guide
Ohio Qualifications-Based Selection Facilitator
As the name implies, Qualifications-Based Selection, or QBS, is a process in which the project owner evaluates and ranks interested design professionals on the basis of their qualifications and experience. Download Guide
