Sherwin-Williams helps simplify your sustainability interests.

During the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design 2024, Sherwin-Williams launched our product portal to the Ecomedes network. As an industry leader, we’re excited to make sustainability easier to deliver into the market every single day.

With Ecomedes, you can simplify the evaluation and selection of sustainable materials via a one-stop shop. The platform pulls in all the certifications, documentation, and details of our products’ sustainability attributes, making it the perfect home for data on our extensive collection of architectural and industrial coatings. Plus, Ecomedes synthesizes product data into a simple lens that people can understand and use to identify the sustainability impact to their project.

Ecomedes helps translate that data into however the design team wants to define sustainability,” said Kathleen Egan, Ecomedes CEO and co-founder. “Removing the friction from that flow of information is critical to driving demand for better buying decisions and building practices.

The benefits of using Ecomedes are monumental for architects.

  • Maximize efficiency in evaluating products sustainability impact: With one click, quickly find, analyze, and document product and material certifications and disclosures for your projects.

  • Accelerate the assembly of sustainability packets: Rather than assembling each product’s documents manually, Ecomedes provides a place for architects to create sustainability packets for your building projects all within the platform.

  • Simplify how you communicate to customers how selected manufacturers meet the requirements they’re seeking. Beyond product search, data analysis, and reporting and analytics, Ecomedes also provides all the supporting documentation a customer needs to submit the building for certification.

  • Easily align product evaluation with the AIA Materials Pledge and Common Materials Framework.

By joining the Ecomedes network, Sherwin-Williams became an anchor of the paint and coatings category, Egan said “It helps us understand the paint and coatings category and make the most positive impact we can.”

Evaluating coatings for sustainable projects shouldn't be complicated and cumbersome. Sherwin-Williams is dedicated to providing architects with tools to make sustainable decisions faster and easier.
