The Committee on the Environment (COTE®) is an AIA Knowledge Community working for architects, allied professionals, and the public to achieve climate action and climate justice through design. We believe that design excellence is the foundation of a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future. Board approved 2021-2025 AIA Strategic Plan

The AIA Board of Directors approved the plan (Final Plan attached) at their meeting on April 15, 2020, by adopting the following motion:

The Board approves the AIA 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, as presented; provided, however, that the following text shall be included in the section of the plan titled “Priority”: “Climate Action for Human and Ecological Health.” In addition, management may make such technical editorial changes to the document as may be appropriate.

Staff will now begin to prioritize and operationalize this plan into the next three to five years of planning.
