  • 1.  AIA's New A305

    I am curious to hear anyone's thoughts about the new format for the AIA A305. We request the A305 as a matter of course on most of our projects. All of our work is public sector and reviewing the A305 is standard procedure for vetting contractors and making sure they are submitting 'responsive' bids. Now to get the same level of information with the new A305 a contractor will have to download, fill out and submit at least 5 and perhaps 6 pieces of the same form. 

    Is anyone else asking for these to be submitted? Are you getting pushback from contractors? Does anyone know if the $90 download fee gets them the main form and all the exhibits? We have an AIA subscription so I don't pay by the 'download'

    I ran this by the AIA documents folks and received this reply on what you receive for the $90 download fee. Hope this is helpful: 

    The 2020 version of A305 (unlike the previous 1986 version) does have exhibits that are included with the purchase price. Users create them separately, but they are able to do so as part of the process. Annual license holders have access to this and other current AIA Documents through their online system.
