A call for projects is open for a pilot effort funded through the AIA Upjohn Research Initiative.
The goal of the pilot is to identify new approaches to streamlining the real estate development process by centering community goals for climate, health, and equity. Its results will be compiled into a framework report with nationwide relevance. The effort is being spearheaded by Adele Houghton -- an architect and Doctor of Public Health candidate at Harvard.
The deadline for letters of interest is March 21.
Architect Adele Houghton was a force of nature (with Gail Vittori) behind the Green Guide for Healthcare years ago, and she has been doing some very interesting work to bring together human health (personal/community level), architecture, and climate response. Her new book, Architectural Epidemiology, which is defining a new discipline and approach, will be out later this year.
