Design for Aging

am pleased to let you all know about an exciting project relating to universal design, sustainable design and Baby Boomers. The vision is to produce some residential unit, whether a single family, townhouse, condominium or other configuration which would incorporate the latest thinking in universal and sustainable design and appeal to Baby Boomers. The unit would be built by a production residential contractor to be presented at the 2011 Northern Virginia Parade of Homes. I am attaching a PDF of slides describing the Welcome Home Concept. We are suggesting a 2-3 hour on-line brainstorming session sometime in the last week of August,. We are researching the logistics and feasibility of such a session, which will be a combination of a Webinar, a conference call, a survey mechanism and a means of interactive dialogue and written comments. The session will be within a specified time period at the end of which, the goals of the session will be met. By arranging for the session to be on-line, we can invite a broad base of participants, both nationally and internationally. These goals and the specific questions/topics for discussion will be finalized by August 13, and distributed to all prospective participants. At this time, we would appreciate any questions/comments you may have on the attachment and the proposed process; who you may suggest should participate (please provide e-mail address, if possible) and what morning and/or afternoon of the week of August 23 through 27 would suit you best?
