The AIA Project Delivery Knowledge Community (PD) promotes the architect’s leadership role in all project delivery methods by assembling and distributing knowledge and best practices for a variety of project delivery methods, e.g. design-build (DB), integrated project deliveries (IPD), and public-private partnerships (P3).The call for volunteer terms starting in January 2024 is now open! Interest in alternate project delivery methods is growing as the traditional design-bid-build method is giving way to other delivery methods that provide better outcomes. Integrated delivery transforms the once adversarial relationship between owners, designers and builders into an alliance that incentivizes common goals and encourages collaboration and efficiency from the outset. This is a case study of the first true IPD healthcare project in the state of Texas. It also incorporated Lean design processes and extensive prefabrication. The seminar will review the contract terms, including the incentives provided under the IPD process, the Lean steps implemented in the project delivery, and the financial results of the project. THERE ARE TWO VERSIONS OF THE HANDOUT. The first fits 8.5 x 11 paper. The second fits 11x17 paper.#IPD #contractual #ProjectDeliveryKnowledgeCommunity #PDKC #contractterms #lean #Prefabrication
