Big changes are coming to The FGI Guidelines - the minimum ‘code’ standards for healthcare facilities in 44 states. They will affect critical care, emergency care, behavioral health, imaging and nursing units, as well as architectural details. In Part 2 – learn AIA member poll results on proposed changes that impact patient safety, healing environment, reduction in falls, and medication safety. Join in examining selected key issues in detail. Learn how to personally get involved in the Guidelines development process. The Guidelines public comment process (June 1 - Nov 25) will be thoroughly explained to also allow the audience to submit comments directly to FGI. Learning Objectives: All participants will earn 1.5 CEU HSW. After viewing this webinar attendees will be able to: 1. Describe details of key proposed changes to the Guidelines – changes that will directly affect future design and construction projects of healthcare facilities. 2. Identify new issues in planning, design, and construction of hospitals for which authorities having jurisdiction may require compliance in the future. 3. Understand how to directly and personally participate in the FGI public comment process. 4. Be able to explain and discuss with fellow architects, owners, AHJ’s, and medical professionals current AIA membership positions on proposed changes to the guidelines. Presenters: Rebecca J.
