Eight Schools: Campus and Culture

Eight Schools: Campus and Culture. Robert Spencer Barnett AIA author and photographer; Robert Moorhead book design.
Published by Pawson Park Press in 2018 available on Amazon.

"Eight Schools: Campus and Culture looks at the cultural and physical development of private college preparatoryboarding schools—specifically, members of the EightSchools Association (St. Paul’s School, the HotchkissSchool, Phillips Exeter Academy, Deerfield Academy, Northfield Mount Hermon, the Lawrenceville School,Phillips Academy Andover, and Choate Rosemary Hall)— through the lens of campus planning and architecture. Not surprisingly, the author, Robert Spencer Barnett, author of Hindsight-Foresight: From the Founding to the Future of Five Ivy League Campuses and Princeton University and Neighboring Institutions, finds many links between the campuses of those institutions and those of colleges and universities: They all aim to provide an education for the “whole student,” which requires the facilities and experience of a “whole campus.”
