Who we are

The Committee on the Environment (COTE®) is an AIA Knowledge Community working for architects, allied professionals, and the public to achieve climate action and climate justice through design. We believe that design excellence is the foundation of a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future. Our work promotes design strategies that empower all AIA members to realize the best social and environmental outcomes with the clients and the communities they serve.

COTE Chapter Guide (2022)

02-07-2022 09:24 PM

Not sure how to get a COTE or sustainability group off the ground? Not sure how to keep it off the ground? You're not alone.

The COTE Leadership Network is a network for local COTE group leaders across the country. They worked to create this guide to assist members in forming and sustaining local COTE groups and to strengthen the national network of these groups.

It includes:

  • A history of COTE and sustainability at AIA
  • How to start a local COTE group
  • How to sustain a local COTE group
  • Examples of different local groups around the country
  • Resources and other useful documents for your chapter
  • A director of who to call when you still have questions
At the very end of the guide is a form for feedback - let us know how this guide helps and how it could be improved in future iterations.
