The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.
The AIA Committee on Architecture for Education will sponsor emerging professionals to attend their fall conference held November 6-9, 2013 in San Francisco. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis – please apply today! The four-day conference provides engaging panel discussions, exclusive tours, and intimate networking opportunities with 100 school architects and allied professionals. View the website for more details. Unique to the Bay Area are several collaborative models that rely on a hands- on approach in designing and learning through Making and Tinkering. Our emphasis will be on visiting provocative examples and, discussing spaces and practices that engender the intersections of Systems Thinking (comprising empathy, creativity and rationality of human centered design approaches) in our local context and culture. AIA Young Architects (licensed less than 10 years), Associate AIA members, AIAS members, full time faculty and full time students are invited to submit an application. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please apply today! #Conferences #CommitteeonArchitectureforEducation
