Arlen M. Solochek, FAIA, is a registered architect and the Associate Vice Chancellor, Capital Planning and Special Projects for the Maricopa Community College District. “Maricopa”, is one of the largest community college districts in the nation, enrolling over 240,000 students each year, and is the largest provider of post secondary education in the State of Arizona. The District is composed of ten independently accredited colleges, multiple education centers and two skills training centers located throughout the greater Phoenix, Arizona and surrounding urban area. Prior to Maricopa, Arlen worked as staff architect for a major Arizona public utility, in private architectural practice and at Arizona State University managing construction of major capital improvements and maintenance projects.
Arlen currently serves on the AIA Documents Committee, the group responsible for writing new and updating existing AIA agreements and forms. He served as the Task Group Chair for the A201-2017 General Conditions update and has been a speaker at AIA National Conventions on the A201. He also has served as Vice Chair, Chair and representative to Western Mountain Region for the AIA Fellows in Arizona.
