While serving as the North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects 2006 President and on the 2010-2012 AIA National Board of Directors as a South Atlantic Regional Director, Jim delivered numerous presentations, seminars, workshops and speeches to the membership, exhibitors, sponsors and others. These presentations covered a variety of topics associated with the Chapter, but most focused on Construction Contract Administration.

Currently, as a member of the CSI Project Resource Manual Update Task Team (PRMUTT), Jim is assisting in editing the CSI Project Resource Manual (PRM). One of the first new releases from this editing is the Construction Contract Administration Practice Guide, co-authored by Jim. It is available for purchase from John Wiley & Sons, Inc (ISBN 978-0-470-63518-6).

Since graduating from North Carolina State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture, Jim has spent his entire career in the field performing Construction Administration. Projects have varied in size and scope, as have the contractors and owners. While every day brings something new…there isn’t much he hasn’t seen, heard…or done.
