Bio

Margine Biswas studied art and architecture at the University of Texas in Austin, and received her Texas architectural registration in 2006. That same year she founded Archiphy Architects.

Margine has been involved in community affairs including serving at AIA, co-chairing Women in Architecture committee and editing of areforum, an online resource for the architectural community.  She has written several articles in trade publications.

Throughout her career, Margine has created projects which express a contemporary vocabulary. She is mainly interested in relationships between the experiences of space as it correlates to the experience of urbanism and the ways in which architecture can create a forum for thought and expression. Recently, Margine’s practice has focused on creating public spaces such as restaurants, offices, multifamily and retail and combining these with her interests in art through sketches and renderings.

Before founding her firm, Margine worked for different architecture firms in the Dallas area. She has worked passionately on various residential and commercial projects ranging from user specific facilities to speculative office buildings.

In her spare time Margine likes to spend time with her husband and two children and enjoys jogging with her dog.  She likes photography, drawing and traveling.  She has traveled extensively throughout the world to countries including Mexico, Argentina, Australia, India, France, Italy, Switzerland, Peru and many more.  She trains for triathlons including Ironman.
