Bio

Bruce is Chief Architect for the Department of Public Works (DPW), State of Connecticut. The DPW is responsible for all building projects funded with state bond funds. His responsibility is to over see most technical issues confronting the State on its projects as well as to supervise the project implementation by its Project Managers. Under his direction the DPW has taken a leadership position in the achieving of sustainable design. Recently, it has been enacted that all state funded building projects with attain a recognized status of LEED Silver or equivalent that he oversees.

He is very active within the various state construction organizations: a founder and member of the Board of Directors for the CTGBC; an active participant in general AIA/CT activities; an active member in the Hartford Chapter of CSI, NE/DBIA, CT’s QBS Council and an active contributor to the Construction Institute Facility Management Group. Most recently he was the Chairman of the National AIA Public Architects Knowledge Community and presently is the NE Regional Representative to the College of Fellows for AIA. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Construction Institute, Chair of the Architectural Review Board for the Town of Wethersfield as well as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and sits on the Facilities Committee for the Wethersfield Historic Society.
