Bio

Ross Miller attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and received a Bachelor of Science in Design - Architectural Studies in 2008 and a dual Master of Architecture and Master of Business Administration in 2010.  Ross is a Founding Principal of FormGrey Studio, a multi-city (Reno, NV + Omaha, NE) collaborative design and fabrication firm focused on elevating all aspects of the built environment.  He is an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), an Associate Member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), EDAC certified, the Associate Director on the AIA Omaha Board of Directors, an At-Large Representative on the AIA Strategic Council, a member of the inaugural AIA Manufacturer’s Council, and Past President of the University of Nebraska, College of Architecture Friends Association.  In 2018, Ross served as the Associate Director on the AIA National Board of Directors.  Additionally, Ross is a Co-Founder of Maple St. Construct – an artist-run gallery/residency space in Omaha, NE and the Project Manager for Mike Nesbit Studio – an emerging artist's studio started in Los Angeles, CA.  Ross has designed or led projects which have resulted in (6) IIDA Great Plains Chapter Interior Design Excellence Awards, (7) AIA Nebraska Excellence in Design Awards, (4) AIA Central States Region Excellence in Design Awards, and (1) Guinness World Record among other design recognition.

He interned throughout his undergraduate degree at Schoenleber, Shriner & Hittle, a small architecture firm in Lincoln, NE.  In graduate school, he worked at Concorde Management & Development, Inc., a property management and real estate development firm in Lincoln, NE – which combined his two graduate degree pursuits.  In July 2010, Ross joined the design studio at HDR in Omaha, NE.  He was involved in designing a wide range of building types and significant projects across the world at HDR which garnered several industry and design awards.  In 2014, Ross was selected as a recipient of the Midlands Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award, an award that honors 40 Greater Omaha, Council Bluffs and Sarpy County entrepreneurs, executives and professional men and women under the age of 40.  In 2016, Ross received the University of Nebraska, College of Architecture Friends Association Young Alumni Award and was also a recipient of the Associates Award by AIA National.  The  Associates Award is the highest award given to individual Associate AIA members who best exemplify the highest qualities of leadership and have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to their component or region's membership, in the community, in professional organizations, and/or in the design and construction industries.  In 2017, Ross was conferred the Louise Blanchard Bethune Fellowship for his contributions to the architecture profession through service on the AIA Strategic Council and in 2018, the Richard Upjohn Fellowship for his contributions to the architecture profession through service on the AIA Board of Directors.

Ross is currently working towards his licensure to become a registered architect.  He possesses vast knowledge of the architecture, construction, custom fabrication, and art industries through his experiences and involvement as a proprietor, practitioner, academic, and volunteer professional.
