Bio

As Campus Architect, Nat Wilson brings to CSUN an extraordinary depth of experience in architecture, planning and construction gained in his twenty-five year professional career. He has consistently demonstrated excellence in the successful management of challenging projects ranging from a Performing Arts Center to a Public Safety Building to a Student Recreation.
In addition to fulfilling the traditional campus architect duties, he is an Environmental Planner and has been a contributor and collaborator on CSU and CSUN projects and campus initiatives including the CSUN Institute for Sustainability, the 2003 Master Plan and the annual California Higher Education Sustainability Conference Steering Committee. His postgraduate studies at UCLA further refined his quantitative and analytical skills resulting in added benefits to the campus regarding analysis of campus traffic issues, food service capacity studies, storm water and waste water issues, sustainable building design, energy saving design and building information models.
In his eight years at CSUN he has developed a comprehensive understanding of CSU Capital Projects procedures for Capital Outlay, Land Use Planning, Project Design, Agency Approvals, Construction Management Procedures, Alternative Construction Delivery Methods and Commissioning. He is well qualified to lead a campus user group and coordinate all requirements for successful project completion from feasibility study through construction and building occupancy. He has demonstrated competence and flexibility in response to changing construction markets and evolving technology requirements while leading demanding projects to completion on schedule and on budget. His work with Building Information Modeling on two recent projects has served as an example for other CSU projects and led to several presentations on the subject at state, regional and national conferences.
