Bio

After spending the first years of his career as an architect and urban designer in New York based architectural firms Chauncey Jones has spent the last twenty five years representing corporations. This work has included new buildings and interior architecture for the manufacturing, telecommunications, financial, internet technology and consulting services industries.
His involvement has included all aspects of corporate real estate from strategic planning, developing capital budgets and scheduling, through real estate transactions, design, construction and occupancy.
With experience in design, consulting, and corporate initiatives he has a unique ability to evaluate issues and make justifiable decisions satisfying both corporate objectives and end user requirements.
He is known for his ability to create and manage high performing teams comprised of internal corporate as well as external real estate, consulting and construction project members.

Current Activities

- New 75,000 square foot, “tier three”, co-primary data center with 15,000 square feet of “white floor “ space. Staged expansion of facility to 160,000 square feet with two additional 10,000 square foot “white Floor” spaces
- Existing data center upgrades including generators, chillers, cooling towers and switchgear equipment.

Experience

Prior to reestablishing his advisory firm Mr. Jones was a Project Director and Program Manager for Deloitte Services LP (2003 - 2009). Initial responsibilities included directing design and construction activities in 17 Western cities in 10 states. This territory contained approximately 2,500,000 square feet of the firm’s 7,500,000 square foot (“sf”) portfolio of leased property. Responsibilities also included establishing yearly design and construction fiscal budgets, managing internal and external team members, including project managers executing the work.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Jones had his own advisory firm acting as consultant to Deloitte (2002 – 2003). He worked as part of the Deloitte team creating space nationally for former Arthur Anderson employees being integrated into the firm.

Mr. Jones was a Senior Associate with Gensler (1999 – 2002) responsible for global account clients and program management projects throughout the United States. Clients for this work included: Nokia, Lehman Brothers and Broadlane a division of Tenet Healthcare.


Prior to joining Gensler Mr. Jones was a Vice President with J.P. Morgan in the International Facilities Management group (1993 – 1999) with responsibility for the management of projects occurring in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. His primary activity was to assemble and manage design and construction teams for project execution.

Mr. Jones worked with GTE (1986 – 1993) as a manager in the firm’s corporate real estate transactions, and design and construction groups. Real estate assignments included the divestiture of excess distribution and manufacturing facilities resulting from the sale of GTE’s Sylvania lighting group. Design and construction projects included: the GTE Government Systems (240,000 sf) research and development facility in Mountain View, California (total responsibility) and the GTE Telephone Operations National Headquarters (1.1ml sf) in Los Colinas, Texas (budget, consultant agreements and interior architecture responsibilities).

Mr. Jones first experience representing corporations was with Pitney Bowes (1984 – 1986) as a project manager in their corporate real estate development group. His project responsibilities included management from conception to move-in. Specifically: capital investment proposals, site selection, lease negotiation, architect contractor selection and build out of primarily new buildings across the United States.
