Bio

Lorraine Minatoishi, Ph.D AIA LEED AP, is the president and owner of AEPAC an award winning architecture and engineering firm specializing in residential, commercial, and government projects with an emphasis on historical architecture. Lorraine is a 36 CFR § 61 SOI Qualified Historic Architect to represent agencies and owners on historic preservation Section 106 and Hawaii HRS 6e issues regarding site planning, building rehabilitation, building additions, or building demolition. She has won numerous awards on projects such as The Royal Hawaiian Hotel & Sheraton Waikiki Master Plan and the Rehabilitation of Building 9 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Dr. Minatoishi has also produced the film “Aloha Buddha”, a documentary examining the history and growth of Japanese Buddhism in Hawaii, awarded Audience Best Documentary of the Year at The Hawaii International Film Festival in 2011. Dr. Minatoishi served on the AIA Honolulu Board of Directors, Historic Hawaii Foundation Board of Trustees, Hawaii Historic Review Board, and board member of the non-profit Friends of Honolulu Memorial Park.
