  • 1.  Sustainable Urban Design Handbook - New Resource

    Posted 11 days ago

Wanted to share that we just published the Sustainable Urban Design Handbook - Hoping this is a helpful resource for urban designers, architects, landscape architects, planners, elected officials, and community stakeholders.  The book organizes more than 50 urban design elements critical to sustainability in a way that is easy to understand. It combines latest research and professional best practices, and we worked hard to make it graphically rich with hundreds of images, diagrams, and examples from across the globe. Hoping it will be helpful as a design tool, evaluation tool, and as a stakeholder engagement tool.  I have talked with many people on this list about this approach and book project for years - so happy it is finally out and available.

You can see the organizing framework and excerpts here: Sustainable Urban Design Framework (framework is also copied below) and can find the book itself here: The Sustainable Urban Design Handbook.  Would love to hear any feedback about this work - always looking at how to improve it and make it more usable.

    Best,
    -Nico
