Who we are

The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

The K-12 IDEA group with support from the College of Fellows is excited to offer three K-12 focused opportunities at AIA24.

    Open Forum
Thursday, June 6, 11AM-12:30 PM, Convention Center Room 143, Program Code: EV208

Celebrate architecture and design initiatives and their impact on the community at this meet-up that is open to all. Join fellow AIA K-12 champions, ACE Mentor of America alumni, mentors, and allied groups for this event organized by the K-12 Integrating Design Education through Architecture Advisory Group. You'll investigate and workshop architectural and design education initiatives impacting the nation, cultivate shared lessons learned, and engage chapters seeking new ways to share public understanding of what architecture is. In addition, you'll explore how the committee and related groups effectively contribute to the discourse, and, together, advance a plan for action.
