  • 1.  Embodied Carbon in Specifications Series

    Posted 11-07-2023 03:19 PM

I'm Alexa Riner, new chair of the AIA Redwood Empire (Northern California) COTE, which has been sputtering along since it's creation a couple years ago. Starting Nov 15th, our chapter is offering FREE monthly virtual sessions all about embodied carbon. We'll cover performance specifications, issues specific to concrete, steel, and wood, and much more. These sessions will run through May of next year in preparation for the new embodied carbon code that AIA CA helped get in place in California. I've also reached out to the AIA East Bay COTE (Oakland, CA) to coordinate efforts as we're focusing more on the specifications side of things and they seem to be focusing on modeling tools. Check out our events page for updates as we add more and more workshops and to sign up for the Nov 15th session: Events - AIA Redwood Empire
