By Bruce Bland posted 03-03-2023 10:42 AM

What

The AAJ is implementing a new structure to promote short and long-term planning of strategic, actionable initiatives that align with the mission and goals of the Academy of Architecture for Justice Knowledge Community.

Why

This process is intended to support the development of tangible deliverables, tools, research, resources, and presentations that support the mission and goals of the Academy of Architecture for Justice Knowledge Community.

How

  1. Submit a request for initiative review form to AAJ leadership group (LG) no later than one week before a scheduled all-membership meeting.
  2. Initiative champions are invited to provide a brief overview of their proposed initiative during the all-membership meetings and solicit support and participation from the membership.
  3. AAJ LG and AIA staff will review requests bi-monthly and request clarification if required with the goal of approving or rejecting the request for initiative support before the next scheduled all membership meeting.

·       Approved

o   Initiatives are expected to be achieved within the proposed durations.

o   Initiative champions will report on progress during AAJ membership meetings.

o   Approved Initiative Proposal Information will be hosted on the AAJ website.

o   Initiative champions are responsible for coordinating with the LG and AAJ staff to publicize meeting times on the AAJ website.

·       Not Approved

o   The LG will provide additional feedback on the reasons why an initiative is not approved and include suggestions for modification of the proposal.

o   Initiative champions may choose to revise proposals and resubmit for later review.
