The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

March 2014 report released: Condition of America's Public School Facilities: 2012 -13
    Download it online: http://nces.ed.gov/pubs2014/2014022.pdf

This report provides nationally representative data on the condition of public school facilities. The National  Center for Education Statistics (NCES) previously collected data on this topic in 1999 (Lewis et al. 2000). The study presented in this report collected information about the condition of public school facilities in the 2012-13 school year.

60% of public schools were reported to have a written long-range educational facilities plan. (page 4) Have you been involved in long-range plan development?
