2023 COD Conferences

Hello Mike,
It looks like everything Graves has done was intended to gain attention by being unattractive as possible and maybe even nonfunctional, simply to gain attention.

Hello Mike,

I was a bit taken back by your title in speaking about Michael Graves, but after reading the attached document I understand your point. I have always appreciated Michael Graves (before he embraced post-modernism) contribution toward pushing aesthetics back into our conversations and work. The issue that most have with his work is that it was primarily visceral avoiding the craft of our profession (and thus the true beauty and meaning of architecture). Even with that, he played an important part in reinvigorating design and architecture in our culture. Thanks for the thoughts!
