The Committee on Design (COD) was founded to promote design excellence among members of the AIA, the broader design community, and the public at large, both nationally and internationally.
This year COD will offer two domestic design conferences investigating The Authenticity of Place. The first conference was held in New Orleans, LA. View the short video of the venue tours and download the conference program book. The second will take place in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, September 21-24, 2023.
The AIA Architecture Firm Award is the highest honor bestowed on an architecture practice. Hear from Architecture Research Office (ARO), the New York City firm that earned the honor in 2020. The firm’s diverse project portfolio— spanning strategic planning, architecture, and urban design—is united by a principled and engaged approach to design, a collaborative process, and technical precision.
Learn how ARO’s design process and culture fosters consistently high-quality design that elevates people and places. Explore the firm's past and present work, their process, and their firm culture in a presentation led by the firm’s leaders followed by a Q&A.
