How quickly we stray from our role speaking up about Confederate monuments. The confederacy attemped to being down our Union. They were defeated. Soldiers who lost their lives are apropriately memorialized inTowns and Cities throughout America. Political leaders and, army generalswho championed slavery were speaking against the Constitution, as amended. tTey were memorialized, two and three decades later for one reason. That was to let post reconstruction black skinnwd citizens know who,was in charge: white men. Thats why that statuary is frequently placed on tall columns and large plinths, just in case anyone might miss rhe message. true heroes, black and white, who fought to preserve the union, in the Confederavy and the Union, were not commemorated. They should now be remembered and commemorated. the insurectionist bronze belong assembled in settings which tell the stories of our history, as the National Park Service does in Wshington DC.
