With the current crisis in healthcare, we need to understand the new normal and learn how to provide support for the needs of patients, caregivers, community, and institutions.
The crisis in healthcare, while evolutional, is profoundly struggling coupled with caregiver shortages and medical facilities that are consistently overwhelmed to provide quality patient care equally to all individuals. Patients are forced to search for other means to meet their medical needs. Access at times is provided by chain stores, such as Walmart, CVS, Amazon, in-house Apple, etc., that can create a disparity in the type of care received. Our institutional systems are competing with one another which is causing insurance increases and an inevitable cycle of hospital closures, especially in rural communities. Our facilities are outdated to meet the demands of hospital operations and our caregivers are tired and getting out of the workforce.
Will our healthcare industry continue to fumble, or can we revamp the playbook to score big for the future of healthcare?
