This touring Symposium will engage attendees around the theme of Perspectives on Architecture for Education in the Nation’s Capital featuring two presentations and tours of three amazing local examples of the best in educational design.

The program will start at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with an opening keynote featuring Anisa Heming and Nea Maloo, FAIA, NOMA.

Attendees will then tour Mundo Verde School, a renovated historic Elementary School and early childhood annex. Mundo Verde is a bilingual, sustainability-focused public charter school, and as such, its campus is a living framework for the curriculum. The project revitalized a derelict urban school site as a demonstration for green, sustainable practices, operations, and education.
