DescriptionThe Architecture Awards program celebrates the best contemporary architecture and highlights the many ways buildings and spaces can improve lives. The nine-member jury selects submissions that demonstrate design achievement, including a sense of place, purpose, history, and environmental sustainability. Through exploring three projects that received the 2020 AIA Honor awards, be inspired by creative, high-quality design, learn innovations of sustainability, and come away with a greater understanding of the built environment’s role in communities. Hosted by Committee on Design (COD).
Learning objectives After attending this program, participants will be able to:
- Investigate approaches that blend and translate complex or challenging programs into projects of excellence.
- Be inspired by projects that are a vehicle for connectivity in communities and campuses.
- Learn approaches to the technical challenges of cost, constructability, and sustainability for design excellence projects.
- Explore the ways in which architecture can improve health and well-being through built works in the public realm.
