Who we are

The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

  • 1.  Last Call for AIA TAP Grant

    Posted 10-11-2023 12:13 PM

It's hard to imagine that 4 months have passed since our TAP events at A'23 in San Francisco!! As we look back at some images from the various events, let this also serve as a friendly reminder to submit to the inaugural TAP Grant Program!!

Submission deadline is October 12, 2023.

This is an opportunity for emerging design professionals, small firm practitioners, and others that have amazing ideas on how technology can deliver better results for the built environment-but are struggling to find the funding, mentoring, or trusted partners to carry out these disruptive ideas. To help foster this type of creativity and innovation within the architecture industry, this grant aims to help cover some of the development fees, and provide access to industry-leading mentors to help turn an innovative idea into a design tool.

The proposal must result in a new process or tool leveraging emergent AEC technology to solve challenges faced by architects and contribute to firm prosperity.
