The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

    Join AIA Charlotte on March 26 at noon as we discuss what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is and its future in the discipline. Professor Jefferson Ellinger from UNC Charlotte will present an introduction to AI and Machine Learning, presenting the underlying fundamentals to these algorithms to demystify how they work, AI's role in the future of architecture and how to prepare for an AI-integrated future.

    Jefferson Ellinger
    Jefferson Ellinger is an Architect and Associate Professor at UNC Charlotte in the School of Architecture. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the School of Data Science at UNC Charlotte. Practicing as an architect he has built several projects throughout North America, including the first vertical farm in North America, won several international competitions, and was a MoMA Young Architects finalist. His work has been exhibited numerous including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
