The Academy page supports AIAs efforts to connect education and practice. AIA works with faculty, staff and students; practitioners; and collateral organizations to support excellence in education and research, expand the pathway to the profession, and prepare future architects. AIA regularly pools resources with AIAS, ACSA, NCARB, NAAB, and others to provide scholarships, educational programming, research, resources, and more.
AIA and ACSA are currently accepting papers for the 2023 Intersections Research Conference: Material Economies to be held on the UMass Amherst campus October 19-21. The conference will bring together researchers and designers from both practice and academia. Themes include, but are not limited to: circular economy, embodied carbon, equity, health, innovation, resilience, regenerative materials, transparency and technology. The conference is co-chaired by Chris Flint Chatto, AIA, principal at ZGF Architects and Caryn Brause, FAIA, associate professor of architecture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Paper submissions are due June, 7 2023.
