A Healing Facility: An Inuit Response to Incarceration

The recently completed Rankin Inlet Healing Facility is a purpose built medium security prison that has been designed around the traditional Inuit notion that only those that are ill can commit a crime. The session will explore the basis of this understanding, how it has informed a unique design, and how it serves as the basis of reintegration back to the community.
