As part of the series, A Framework for Design Excellence in Educational Facilities, the Committee on Architecture for Education presents Creating Equitable, Adaptable and Resilient Educational Environments.Engaging educational environments are vital to help learners reach their full potential. These facilities also play a critical role in serving as anchors for our larger communities. The design of educational facilities can and should foster equitable communities acting as a catalyst for change.In this session we will:• explore how architects and designers can engage a broader group in a way that listens to all stakeholders to enrich the planning a design process• analyze how we can plan educational environments that address current needs and adapt or transform for future needs • share knowledge on best practices for making educational facilities more equitable and resilient• explore ways that a facility becomes a community hub in a crisis.
