This presentation will guide participants step by step through the design process of a Psychiatric Unit and psychiatric safe Holding Rooms in an Emergency Department. With the patient experience at the forefront, and supported by data analytics, this webinar will navigate how to best choose the best location for a Psych Holding Unit in an Emergency Department and detail the necessary steps to ensure both patient and staff safety.

Learning objectives:

After participating in this webinar attendees will:

  1. Discuss the process of gathering, developing, categorizing, and analyzing information to: educate end users and support staff; inform programming and planning; and validate operational assumptions to better predict the outcome of design options.
