Just wanted to update on the issue of working with sisal rope. From several stores, I bought 3/8", 1/2" diameter rope. In no cases does the 1/2" fit...and when measured, I see it's more like 3/4". Then, one package of 3/8" seems to be more like 1/2" and I end up taking one of the three plys out of the rope. That has worked the best. But this rope is highly variable.
