Daniel,
CDT was original a certificate program but now it is a certification. CSI only asks you to verify upon your renewal that you have completed the required hours. This is basically an 'honor system' verification. If you complete your required AIA LUs, you have met your CDT requirements. I don't recall any audit of my LUs, but I have been audited by several state boards and I just send them my AIA transcript and get a "thank you" email in minutes.
The CDT certification program is a good foundation of construction documentation knowledge and I would encourage to continue your knowledge growth and the CCCA certification is a good next step. After licensure, I worked in the construction administration department of a large firm for several years and this is where all the design/construction education and training became more than concepts. It brought design, project delivery, contracts, and maintenance into focus.

I am a current CDT certificate holder which will now have a 3 year renewal requirement. I was wondering how anyone out there who has a CSI certificate (CCCA, CCS, etc.) completes there CEU requirement towards those CSI certificate renewals? Did you send CSI an AIA transcript to satisfy the learning unit requirement?
Thank you all and hope all are doing well out there.
