Who we are

Universal Design has been defined as “the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.” This definition was developed by the architect Ron Mace, FAIA, an architect and the founder of the Center for Universal Design at N.C. State University. In recent years, architects and designers in the US and abroad have come to recognize significant and growing overlaps between Universal Design principles and emerging values of social and environmental sustainability.

I am a recruiter with KB Home and have been searching for Architectural Designers who have worked with a residential developer/production homebuilder or who have worked for a firm that has a group that works on single family residential architecture.  It has proven to be the true needle in a haystack search. We are seeking someone with 5-10 years of experience to grow in our Architecture department in our Los Angeles office. Does anyone have some insight or intel on if these types of architects are still working in house with companies like Lennar, Pulte, DR Horton, etc.?  So far, what I am seeing is that when the economy turned, many of these in-house architects were let go and have since moved on to work on commercial or other such areas that are more stable.  If anyone has any information they can share or direct me to information on this subject, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Regards,
