Who we are

The mission of the Historic Resources Committee (HRC) is to identify, understand, and preserve architectural heritage, both nationally and internationally. HRC is engaged in promoting the role of the historic architect within the profession through the development of information and knowledge among members, allied professional organizations, and the public.

  • 1.  HDP Summer Employment

    The Heritage Documentation Programs (Historic American Buildings Survey / Historic American Engineering Record / Historic American Landscapes Survey), in collaboration with the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE), seeks applications from qualified students and recent graduates in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, architectural history, and historic preservation, for 2022 summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape, and technological significance throughout the United States.  Duties involve on-site field work and the preparation of measured and interpretive drawings and written historical reports for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection at the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress.  Projects last 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June. Salaries range from approximately $8,000 to $12,000 for the summer, depending upon job responsibility and level of experience.  Positions will be located at the HDP office in Washington, DC.  Please share this announcement with your colleagues, and encourage all interested and qualified individuals to apply.
