For over 20 years, I have lead teams to design health and science environments. I believe sophisticated architectural design defines a balance between the technical and expressive elements of these project types. Under my direction, the implementation of complicated programs has satisfied client needs through the creation of elegant spaces. I have worked on projects varying from replacement hospitals to research labs and vivaria.
My experiences as Director and Principal provide me the knowledge to address all phases of the construction process. I have worked extensively with long term clients to develop, design and construct projects of all scales. I have implemented more than 2 billion dollars of new construction around the world.
The wide variety of institutions for which I have worked allows me to be comfortable with a diverse clientele. I understand the various and often conflicting priorities of the space planning, engineering, architectural, and administrative staff involved in all organizations. I build bridges between the various stakeholders so they all feel rewarded and satisfied by the end product.
Through my understanding of the multiple systems that must be integrated into a project, I lead the design consultant team to ensure that the new installations are well-received in the institutional body. I use my familiarity and facility with the means of technical production to communicate design ideas to the client in a way that streamlines the process from design to production drawings and construction administration.
