Description:

You may have heard of Competitive Intelligence (CI), a valuable strategic tool that dramatically improves business success. CI involves positioning your firm ahead of the pack—and keeping it there. This is accomplished through gathering and analyzing information about your entire competitive landscape, and using these insights to anticipate change, mitigate risk, and grasp opportunity. Originally used by large organizations such as Motorola and Kellogg, CI now appears in companies of all sizes across all business realms. Many industries—such as advertising, biotech, and financial services—embrace CI, but architectural industry as a whole has yet to realize CI’s vast potential.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explore what CI is, and isn’t, with the help of case studies from the architectural

2. Map the critical elements of their firm’s competitive landscape

3. Identify blind spots and assumptions that threaten their firm’s success

4. Identify low-cost CI activities that they can implement in their firms, regardless of size, location, or services offered
