Bio

Andrew Daley is a Lecturer in Architecture at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. He recently finished his Master of Architecture degree at Rice University, and has worked professionally, most notably for Nonya Grenader Architect in Houston, TX, Alloy Workshop in Charlottesville, VA, and Pretty Hard Fine Concrete in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to this, he received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Virginia.

Andrew's research includes a wide range of subjects: small scale prefabrication, community design/build projects, social equity and overlap, among other areas of inquiry. His thesis work at Rice was the product of a year-long investigation of formal and social disjunctures.

Andrew is currently researching the implications of equity, privilege, and access as they relate to social structures and how architecture can mitigate the gaps. In addition, he is working with two colleagues to develop a prefabricated kitchen/bathroom unit for residential use called the InHouse OutHouse.
