This (free) broadcasted session of the Practical BIM symposium consists of four leaders in technology in practice: Daniel J. Janotta, AIA, discusses BIM Implementation, Process, and Training; Dennis Sheldon, Ph.D., AIA, discusses BIM and the Cloud; Anton Harfman, AIA discusses BIM - Building Relationships; Mario Guttman, AIA discusses Application Programming Enhancement of BIM. Professor Karen M. Kensek moderates.

The Practical BIM symposium will include a wide range of applications of building information modeling that encompass ideas, methods, and concepts that can be implemented at your firm or will inspire future applications. It is the sixth in the series of yearly BIM symposium at the University of Southern California, School of Architecture. Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. List ten important lessons learned on BIM implementation, process, and training from seven case study projects in a large firm.
  2. Explain how “cloud computing” can be used for BIM to enhance collaboration, coordination, and communication.
  3. Discuss a pedagogical approach to structure and construction through the parametric modeling of relationships between building components.
  4. Learn how to use BIM tool authoring to enhance common design processes.

Report AIA Continuing Education

Attendees will earn 1.25 CEHs. At the end of the webinar, a link to a survey will be provided. All attendees at each site submit one form: 1) page one: webinar survey and 2) page two: CES report form. The survey must be completed within 24 hours of the webinar. AIA members and IDP record holders will have their credit recorded within 48 hours of the webinar. All attendees will be prompted to download a certificate of completion at the end of the survey.
