Corporations are making rights grabs to claim ownership over things that you actually bought from them. For instance copyrights on music and other media have recently been claimed to limit the purchasers rights to resell the media. Corporations are pushing for similar treatment for devices that incorporated media or software. So for instance, if they had their way you would not be able to sell last years smart phone without the manufacturer's permission, or perhaps a cut of the sale.
To me, this paves the way for designers to have a commission on any subsequent sale of homes they have designed. What do you think? Any chance AIA legal is watching these developments?
