U.S. companies are well known for high quality, innovative, and practical product designs. From the aesthetic look of a building to the design and function of advanced machines, a product's form and function should be protected. A product's design requires registration in the country where protection is sought. The Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs provides a practical business solution for registering up to 100 designs in over 65 territories through a single international application.
This webinar is the second in a series designed to give exporters tools to protect their intellectual property when selling products internationally. Boris Milef, Senior Legal Examiner, International Patent Legal Administration, will walk U.S. companies through the process and procedures of the Hague System. The International Trade Administration's Office of Intellectual Property Rights and the United States Patent and Trademark Office will discuss designs and how to protect them internationally, and provide information on government resources available to U.S. businesses. Follow-on webinars will cover patents and the Patent Cooperation Treaty and trade secrets.
Learn:
- How product design cuts across industry sectors
