I have heard that you (we?) are pursuing a new AIA National Design Award for adaptive reuse.  Is it true?  What is the status?

In the meantime, let's advocate for an adaptive and/or extended reuse component to be added to our continuing education requirements.

This is not a small thing, it is a sea change for our profession.  Let us also find ways to infect architectural education with this newly essential way of doing great design and great architecture.

    Mike and all,
Yes, we have been urging the board to embrace such an award but we have not had any success with this yet. While I'm no longer on the ag, I believe that this is still a priority for COD. It is the right thing to do!
    Best regards,
