Memory & Imagination: Stanford White in Detail
    Thursday, January 28, 2021
    5:30 PM ET

Stanford White's (1853-1906) portfolio includes houses ranging from marble palaces to shingled retreats, buildings and master plans for major institutional clients, and civic monuments, as well as jewelry, picture frames, furniture, and even covers for books and magazines. Sam White (great grandson) will discuss his most recent book-Stanford White In Detail (Monacelli Press, 2020)-which keeps a tight focus on the signature ornamental details that animate Stanford White's ouevre, while this lecture considers the broader themes that unite the individual designs across the spectrum of his career.
