Who we are

The Young Architects Forum (YAF), a program of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the College of Fellows (COF), is organized to address issues of particular importance to recently licensed architects.

FAQ: What is a young architect and what is an emerging professional? Young architects are architects licensed up to ten years of initial licensure, and the name does not have any relationship to age. Emerging professionals are professionals who have completed their academic studies up to the point of licensure or up to 10 years after completion of their academic studies. Although young architects are now defined as distinct from emerging professionals, many components refer to these groups similarly. For example, a local YAF group may include emerging professionals and a local Emerging Professionals Committee may include young architects.

    I.M.H.O.

The Architect profession wide collaboration, on its Open Source Architecture Information Exchange platform, that enables the automatic (as authorized) access to the built environment permitted CAD and BIM digital files at every location, that is shared among members for royalty fees, to be updated, corrected, and improved upon will establish best practices.

The incredible new revenue streams Architects will receive from all their hard work (treasure trove buried in their computers), will empower the profession with residual income to advance design innovations, in this most technologically dynamic time.

The unprecedented efficiency from the Architect profession wide Collaboration Agreement and Internet Platform that synchronizes the built environment with the corresponding CAD and BIM and all other digital information at every location, will position Architects as the Stewards of the Built Environment Information and Facilitators of Efficiency as we "Design a better World - Together!"

Have you ever receive a message like this?

    ----

    Hi David,
Could you send to me an electronic copy of the Drawings and Plans you made for our clubs in Crunch Fort Myers and Crunch Bonita Springs please ?
    Thank you so much !

    ----

What do you do just give them away to facilitate efficiency, or not give them away and make the new architect redo all the work from scratch (like usual)?

Wouldn't it be great if the Standard Mode of Operation is this owner would request his new Architect to access the Architects Collaborative Internet Platform to download the most current CAD and BIM at the location (for a royalty fee automatically paid to the Architect of Record)!

When the new Architect uploads the current permitted CAD and BIM at the location or a different location anyone who has contributed to the work will receive (Residual Retirement) Royalty Fees from subsequent Architect downloads - perpetually!

The tremendous time-saving efficiency and new revenue streams from permitted CAD and BIM will EMPOWER ARCHITECTS!
