Who we are

The mission of the AIA Design for Aging (DFA) Knowledge Community is to foster design innovation and disseminate knowledge necessary to enhance the built environment and quality of life for an aging society. This includes relevant research on characteristics, planning and costs associated with innovative design for aging. In addition, DFA provides outcome data on the value of these design solutions and environments.

DFAR12: White Oak Cottages at Fox Hill Village

The project is the first of its kind as a Green House® assisted living facility in the state. It consists of two houses for the care of residents with dementia (and other memory-related issues) and a third structure for marketing and administration. Each house has private bedrooms and baths for 12 residents and includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, and den.
